A viral wave is often a visual analogy where the rise and fall in infections resemble an ocean wave. The rapid spread of the Covid-19 first & second wave paved the way for critical changes in the manner of managing the pandemic. A global pandemic of this scale is unlike anything experienced in modern times and hence before preparedness, we need to understand the challenges faced by our country’s healthcare system. Assessment and learnings from the first two waves could bolster the system’s stance.
